Summer Camp 2009


	Summer dance camp: August 17th - 22nd, 2009 The Canolfan Conway Centre is a redsidential educational facility set in 169 acres of National Trust parkland on the island of Anglesey, North Wales. Qualified expertise is available for Outdoor Education, Arts and Field Studies. The centre is well equipped for dance. It has drama and dance studios, a performance hall with lighting and PA system, rehearsal and practice rooms. Summer camp will combine Irish dance technique and performance workshops with varied Outdoor Education and Arts activities to suit different age groups. One adult (with enhanced CRB disclosure) will attend for every 10 children. We aim to significantly subsidise this experience through regular fundraising activities. To be eligible to attend, children need to have attended a minimum of two classes per week for nine months. The level of subsidy will be determined by class attendance levels. We will be maintaining a record of parental support for our school social events, i.e. tickets bought, events attended, items donated, time given. Priority will be given to the children of parents that have consistently supported the school's fundraising activities. The cost for six days (including travel, accommodation, meals, dance tuition, outdoor and arts activities) will be approximately £400. We aim to raise a subsidy fund of £20,000 to help defray costs and make this experience as accessible as possible.
